Liverpool spanked Spartak Moscow 7-0 in the Champions League group stages and Philippe Coutinho was undoubtedly the star of the match as the Brazilian got his first ever hattrick for Liverpool.

But the Liverpool fans have woken to some not so fine news.

After the match, the mood was dampened a little bit as the Liverpool captain for the night refused to commit his long-term future with the club and now it seems as if the bookies have suspended all the betting on Coutinho joining Barcelona during the January transfer window.

It is being reported that Barcelona have agreed on a £128 million with the Brazilian and as soon as this news spread a string of bets were made on the player’s possible transfer to the Camp Nou. So the bookies immediately moved to suspend all bettings on this deal and this is a very promising sign that Coutinho might already be packing his bags for Spain.

Betway spokesman Alan Alger said: “His dream move to Barcelona didn’t materialise in summer, but we’re taking no risks on Philippe Coutinho being granted his wish in January after reports Liverpool have agreed a deal with the Catalan giants.

“Jurgen Klopp has done little to quash the rumours when asked whether the Brazilian would be at Liverpool in February, yet further indication that Coutinho is destined to bid farewell to Anfield.

“After heightened betting activity on Thursday, running in line with reports a deal has been agreed, we’ve decided to suspend betting on the 24-year-old making the switch to the Nou Camp in the upcoming transfer window.”

Liverpool have resisted this transfer throughout the whole summer transfer window but now it seems that the owners of the club have finally decided that it is in the best interest of all the parties to let Coutinho have his dream move in January.
