It was just yesterday when we reported how Alex Sandro refused a move to Chelsea during the summer because he wanted to stay at Juventus. And we also made a prediction that a few more names might pop up in the next couple of weeks of other players who refused to join Antonio Conte’s side.

Exactly one day has passed and another name has come up. This time it’s German wonder kid Jann-Fiete Arp who chose to stay at Hamburg rather than shift to London. Ok, so Hamburg is a great club in its own right but who will refuse a move to the reigning Premier League Champions.

Ok, so Hamburg is a great club in its own right but who will refuse a move to the reigning Premier League Champions.

Apparently Jann Arp did, as per a German tabloid.

Arp, 17 had a wonderful run in the European U-17 Championships and this is where he caught the eye of many a top clubs across Europe. And Chelsea were one of them. The Blues even made a ‘lucrative offer’ to the youngster but Arp chose to stay in Germany by signing a new one-year contract extension.

And as per the report, Arp did not make the move abroad because the player did not have faith in the Blues youth academy – the most successful one in England without a doubt.

Chelsea’s youngsters have won four straight FA Youth Cups but somehow all those promising youngsters have failed to make a mark on the first team. Most of them have ventured to other clubs and are doing quite well there.

And it was this, that made Arp reject a move to Stamford Bridge.

High profile players to talented youngsters, it seems like rejected Chelsea is becoming a trend.

More names to come?
