Should Antonio Conte Finally Give This 20-Year-Old A Start Against Crystal Palace

Chelsea travel to Selhurst Park this weekend to face Crystal Palace and Antonio Conte will be desperate for redemption after their humiliating loss at the hands of Manchester City two weeks ago. The Blues were out-played and out-classed by Guardiola’s men at their home ground, eventually losing the match 1-0.

But the travel to Palace this weekend will be not such an easy affair as the Blues will travel without N’Golo Kante as well as Alvaro Morata. This would evidently mean that Michy Batsuayi will be the next in line for the striker’s position on Sunday but is the previous affairs are anything to go by then Conte does not have too much faith in the player. This means that Eden Hazard will most likely play as the makeshift striker. And this is where finally 20-year-old Charly Musonda might or should come into the picture. The Belgium U21 recently went on a rant on social media following the lack of games this season and we feel that it is time for Antonio Conte to give this lad a start. Willian has not been in the greatest of forms recently and Musonda can easily take up his position as the left-sided attacking midfielder.

The former Anderlecht youth product has appeared in three games this season but is yet to start a Premier League game. And this is clearly left him frustrated.

On paper Crystal Palace are the weakest team in the Premier League right now with Roy Hodgson’s men failing to score a single goal this season. So it will be fair to give the youngster a run in. But if what we have seen Conte from the past season he will most likely stick with his first team, more so at the back of a defeat at the hands of the current league leaders.

So even though this game was the perfect opportunity for Charly Musonda to break the shackles and show everyone what he is capable of but we feel he will have to wait a bit longer for his Premier League start. More so after getting into the bad books of the manager.
