Chelsea defender David Luiz and manager Antonio Conte have been involved in a battle of ego which has resulted in the defender being sidelined for a couple of weeks now. And this rift between the two parties meant= rumours started surfacing that Luiz will bemoving out of the club in January. It was said that La Liga giants, Real Madrid were interested in the player and would make a move for him during the current month.

And a few days back reports were claiming that Chelsea were ready to offload Luiz and that an agreement had between reached between both the club for a probable January sale. Chelsea were thought to be offloading Luiz in the new year and then make a move for their long term target Alex Sandro once again.

But now the Chelsea manager has practically laughed at all these stories and has claimed them to be baseless and false.

When Conte was asked if a sale had been agreed earlier this week he said, “This week? No. I must be honest I don’t read this because I don’t have time to read. We are playing every three days so my focus is on the pitch, our preparation and my team.

“This is speculation but we pass from my sacking to the Real Madrid [rumours]. We are very fast to pass these two different situations. My focus is only on Chelsea, I’m totally committed for this club and for my players.”

As of now Conte remains firm on the Luiz is not going anywhere.

But do we believe the Italian?

Because the last time Antonio Conte had a bust-up with a player(Diego Costa), he had to spend months in exile before finally moving back to Spain.
