Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has supposedly requested the club that he wants to leave in the summer.

While up until now it looked as if AS Monaco were the front runners to sign the Algerian. But now it looks as if Arsenal just might beat them to the race. According to Goal, Monaco might fall behind in the race of signing Mahrez mainly due to his asking price.

Leicester City have put a price tag of 40 million Euros on Mahrez. And Monaco might not be ready to pay such an amount for Mahrez. Specially after his dip of form in the current season.

But by the looks of it, Arsenal and Wenger feel that Mahrez still has the potential to play at a big club. Wenger has been a long admirer of the Algerian and had shown desire to sign him. And now it looks as if, the flame has been rekindled.

Wenger who has just agreed to a new two year contract with Arsenal will look to make Mahrez his first big signing of the season. And if the right offer comes their way, Leicester City will have no hesitations in letting him go.
