It was just yesterday that we reported about the fact that both Arsenal and Liverpool wanted to sign Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri during the January transfer window. Now it looks as if any hope of that happening has just been flushed out.
The 26-year-old has outrightly claimed that he wishes to stay in France for the whole season and a move out of Nice is not going to happen in January.
‘I will not be leaving in the January transfer window, that is clear.’, Seri said.
But we feel that this denial has more to do with moving to a really big club next summer instead of settling for something less in January. If we rewind back our memories then we can see that Seri was really close to signing for Barcelona in the summer. But at the very last moment, the move broke down as the Catalans pulled out of the deal.
Now the Ivorian International clearly feels that he will have much more value if he waits out another season at Nice rather than make a hasty move in January.
