According to a report in the Express, Arsenal will not be offering a new deal to Theo Walcott as the club is preparing to offload him as well as Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window.

Mesut Ozil’s current contract with the club runs out next summer and Wenger has no other option but to sell him off this January or else let him go for free at the end of the season. Walcott situation though has not yet grown so complicated and to make sure it does not reach an Ozil like stage, the Gunners will offload him at the start of the new year.

The English International still has 18 months left on his current contract but the London outfit have no intentions of putting a new deal infront of him. The report suggests that Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino is looking to buy a few attacking options this January and he is interested in bringing Walcott back to his old club.

The 28-year-old started his senior footballing career with Southampton before moving to Arsenal in 2006. Now the Saints manager is looking to bring him back to the St Mary’s so that he could support the attacking third.

Southampton are willing to pay anywhere in the region of £12 to £15 million for the winger but they will have to fend away teams like Inter Milan and Everton who also have shown an interest in signing up the player.
