Few days back it was reported that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was scheduled to hold a meeting with Arsene Wenger where Arsenal were supposed to offer him a new and lucrative contract. But word around London was that the Ox was supposed to reject the new deal and let Wenger know about his desire to join Chelsea.
Well, that meeting has taken place and it has panned out exactly as mentioned above.
According to the latest reports, Chamberlain has rejected a new deal at the Emirates – which if he chose to accept would have made him one of the highest paid players at the club. And this rejection means that interests from potential suitors like Chelsea and Liverpool have been set in motion.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been a long time admirer of the English International but it looks like Chelsea are in pole position to sign up the player. Antonio Conte has publicly said that he wishes to sign a couple of new players before the transfer window closes next Thursday and we feel that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be one of those.
Arsene Wenger had asked Chamberlain to show faith and respect in his current club after the amount of time that the Gunners have invested him. But it looks like Ox is having none of that. He clearly feels that his long term future lies at another club and has made his intentions quite clear to Wenger.
It is also being reported that Arsenal will take 24 hours to make a decision after which they will let Alex know if he can leave the club or not. And if the Gunners do open up the doors for him then they will most probably quote £30-£40 million, which we think is good enough money for a player who has 12 months left on his current contract.
Chelsea are no doubt No 1 to land the player but Liverpool will also make a serious effort in order to sign him up – given the price bracket of the player.
