Arsenal take on Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon and Wenger will try and test out his first eleven for the upcoming Premier League season.

Here’s how Wenger’s first team might look in a possible 3-4-3 formation at Wembley:

Goalkeeper:

Petr Cech will be in front of the posts for Arsenal much like last season.

Defence:

Wenger will deploy three players in central defence and two of those will definitely be Rob Holding and Monreal. But the third defender will be a cause of concern for Arsene Wenger as Shkodran Mustafi is sidelined with an injury. The German International has not trained for the whole of this week but news from the Arsenal camp is that he will have a physical fitness test one day before the match in order to judge his final condition.

In case Mustafi is ruled out of the match we are assuming that Per Mertesacker will take his place in central defence and will be deployed in between Holding and Monreal.

Midfield:

Arsenal will go into the match with four midfielders – two central and two out and out wing backs. Wenger’s preferred duo of Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka will play the central roles as this is perhaps the only top class midfielders that the Gooners boss has available amongst his ranks.

No prizes for guessing that Hector Bellerin will firmly slot back in his favoured right-wing back position while new arrival Sead Kolasinac will take up the left wing-back role.

Attack:

Arsenal will have three players in the final third of the pitch and another new signing Alexandre Lacazette will be the one leading the striking duties from the middle. The Frenchman will be supported by attacking midfielders on either side of the pitch and as of now, it looks like Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil will be entrusted with the said roles.

Alexis Sanchez joined the Arsenal training camp a few days late due to a possible sickness but we presume that he will feature at some point during the match. But having said that it is highly unlikely that Wenger will start the match with the Chilean.
