Arsenal have decided to subsidise the tickets for their travelling fans who are set to visit Spain in order to watch Atletico vs Arsenal clash in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The away fixture for the Gunners is scheduled to be played on Thursday, May the 3rd and the travelling fans up until now had to shell out a whopping £79 for each ticket.

Arsenal, on the other hand, will be charging the Spanish side’s fans just £36.50 per ticket for the first leg which is scheduled to be played at the Emirates on 26th of April.

So the Emirates management have decided that he will pay the difference between the price so as to ensure that their travelling fans do not end up spending more than their Spanish counterparts.

Arsenal supporters’ liaison officer Mark Brindle said(as per Arsenal.com): “We know our match in Madrid is already shaping up to be an expensive one for our supporters with the early May Bank Holiday increasing travel costs.

“On top of this, our fans are being asked to pay a higher ‘non-member’ price for their tickets to Estadio Metropolitano.

“We’ve decided to subsidise tickets for the second leg, meaning our travelling fans will spend the same as those from Atletico. Our travelling fans are the lifeblood of the club and we hope this measure helps to make their journey to Spain a little easier.”

Arsenal will host Atletico Madrid at the Emirates on the 26th of this month and Wenger will be without the services of summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan who suffered an injury during the quarterfinal game against CSKA Moscow.

But the Armenian is expected to return to the starting line-up when the London outfit travel to Spain for the Atletico vs Arsenal encounter.
