Barcelona had a comfortable victory against Eibar in their La Liga clash and they are now just two points behind League leaders Real Madrid.
Busquets Injury might be a concern:
It was more or less a regulation win for the Catalan Giants and they did not have to break a sweat to get the point.A major concern for Barcelona would be the injury suffered by Sergio Busquets in the first half. Barcelona have confirmed that Busquets has suffered an ankle ligament sprain and might be out for a couple of weeks. This comes as a blow for Barcelona since they have quite a busy season in the coming months.
Denis Suarez scores;
Busquets was replaced by Denis Suarez in the tenth minute of the match and it was eventually Denis who got the first goal for Barcelona. It was a neatly taken shot from outside the penalty box as he drilled the ball low to the left of the Eibar goalkeeper.
Barcelona went into half time win the single goal advantage.
Some brilliant work from Messi:
In the second half, Barcelona got their second goal in the 50th minute of the match thanks to some brilliant work from Lionel Messi. He received the ball on the halfway line and ran towards the Eibar goal. He then passed the ball to Suarez but did not stop running. Suarez put in a delicious cross into the box and Messi was at the end of it to tap the ball into the net.
Mistake from Lejeune cost them another goal:
Eibar’s Lejeune was caught napping on the ball in the 68th minute and Suarez punished him by scoring Barcelona’s third goal. Neymar scored a fourth for Barcelona in the 91st minute of the game as Barcelona grabbed all three points.
Barcelona are in the 3rd position, just 2 points behind the top spot. In the next match Barcelona host Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey where the have a one goal advance from the previous leg. After that Barcelona have an away match against Betis in the La Liga.
