Barcelona blow away Granada as Neymar scores 100th goal

The Blaugrana thumped Granada 4-1 in their Liga Santander match to stay close to Real Madrid in the title race. Four different players were on the scoresheet for Barcelona. The scoring was started off by Suarez and ended by Neymar in the 91st minute of the match. The two other goals were scored by Rakitic and Paco Alcacer.

Granada went down to ten men with eight minutes still left on the clock as Agbo was sent off after receiving his second yellow card of the match. But by that time Barcelona were already 2-0 up. Ivan Rakitic scored immediately after the sending off and secured all three points for the Catalan giants. Neymar scored the fourth goal for Barcelona in injury time. This was his 100th goal for the club since joining in 2013.

It was a special night for Neymar as he achieved his personal milestone at the club. Having joined from Brazilian side Santos, Neymar has till date played 177 matches. Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said that he wished that Neymar would score another 900 goals for the club.

Messi was absent in the match due to a suspension. He received his fifth booking of the season just before the international break. But Suarez stepped up to the plate in the Argentine’s absence. The Uruguayan was brilliant during the night having penalty shouts in the first half of the game and also hit the woodwork.

Win the win Barcelona are now just 2 points behind league leaders Real Madrid. But they have played an extra game than Real. Enrique will be hoping that his team can keep up the pressure on Real Madrid. He will get back the services of Lionel Messi during Barcelona’s midweek tie against Sevilla.
