As per the latest reports, Barcelona are planning to make a £120 million bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho during the January transfer window.

As per the Daily Mail, the Barcelona management are thinking of going back for the Brazilian star after their failed attempt to secure him this past summer. The Catalans went all out to sign Coutinho from Liverpool but the Reds were reluctant not to sell one of their key players before entering into such a crucial season.

At first, the FSG(owners of Liverpool) had to personally intervene into the deal and tell Barcelona that the player was not for sale. But then Coutinho handed in a transfer request in order to force a move to Spain. After this, the Reds did finally agree to let the player leave after Valverde’s team placed a bid of £112 million. But that move could not ultimately materialise simply because Jurgen Klopp was left with too little time to find a suitable replacement.

Now Barcelona’s chief executive has come out and said that they are ready to go after Coutinho during the winter transfer window if the technical staff give them the green signal.

Oscar Grau, Barcelona’s chief executive said, “We are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market, or any player the technical staff request.

“But it is important to adjust ourselves, so if there are to be arrivals, there must be exits.”

The news suggests that Liverpool will not agree to the previous bid of £112 million and thus Barcelona are thinking of revising the offer to somewhere in the region of £120 million.
