It looks as if Barcelona have abandoned the desire of signing Philippe Coutinho after being repeatedly rejected by Liverpool.

According to the latest reports, Barcelona have grown frustrated with Liverpool’s stand of not letting go of Coutinho, as a result of which the Catalans have now shifted their focus to PSG’s Angel Di Maria.

Liverpool have rejected a series of bids from Barcelona – the latest one being in the region of £118 million. And now with the transfer window coming to a close, Barcelona have realised that it is best to let of Coutinho and focus elsewhere. As a result of which they now want Angel Di Maria to replace Neymar at Camp Nou.

The report claims that the acquisition of Neymar has burned a huge hole in PSG’s pockets and Barcelona want to take advantage of this by making a lucrative bid for the former Real Madrid player.

So it looks as if Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have successfully fended away Barcelona from scooping up Philippe Coutinho – something very few clubs can boast of in the recent past. But now that Coutinho is staying at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp might face a whole new challenge in trying to bring him back into first team action, especially after the so-called rebellion that the Brazilian had started in order to force a move out of Liverpool.
