Barcelona are planning a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen.

With Andres Iniesta ageing quickly, Barcelona are desperate to bring in a new creative midfielder who could prove to be a long-term solution to the Spanish wizard. And for the longest time, the Catalan club were eyeing Liverpool’s, Philippe Coutinho. But now according to the Don Balon, Barcelona might just go for Christian Eriksen instead of the Brazilian.

Barcelona did sign Ousmane Dembele during the summer but the youngster has failed to make any mark on the La Liga as of yet. And the Catalans feel they still need another attacking midfielder. Valverde’s side chased Coutinho all throughout the summer but the end result did not bear any fruit. Now they are clearly looking for other options who have the same potential as Coutinho.

And Don Balon are suggesting that Barcelona are looking at Spurs attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen. Eriksen has established himself as one of the best in Europe over the last year or so and can turn out to be a fine replacement for Coutinho. Barcelona are also being linked with Mesut Ozil who is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season. The news is that Barcelona are willing to pay £16 million for the German and help out Arsenal by cashing in on him in January.
