Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 5-2 in their Copa del Rey Quater Finals to progress to the semi-finals.
Barcelona scored 5 on the night to beat Sociedad. The Catalan club took the lead in the 18th minute of the match courtesy of a fine long range effort from Denis Suarez. The goal came after some fine display of attacking football from the home side. That was the only goal of the half, though.
In the second half, Barca got a penalty within the first 10 minutes after a bad tackle on Neymar. Lionel Messi converted from the penalty spot to give his side a two-goal lead. And with that goal, the tie was almost dead and buried. Sociedad pulled on back in the 63rd minute thanks to Juanmi.

But anything sort of a comeback fight from the away side was quickly cut off as Suarez scored the very next minute. Thanks to a brilliant through ball from Lionel Messi. The away side scored another goal but that made no impact on the game whatsoever as Barcelona scored another two goals thanks to Arda Turan and Denis Suarez.
Barcelona completely dominated the match and Lionel Messi was particularly brilliant throughout the match. On the night Messi not only scored from the penalty spot but also had two assists to his name. Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. And the first leg is scheduled to be played on the 1st of February 2017.
