Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is looking to offload Arda Turan during the January transfer window and he has told Jorge Mendes about his plans.

Arda Turan, 30, still has two years left in his current contract at the Camp Nou but the Barcelona boss has no use of the attacking midfielder in his future plans. That is why Valverde has asked Mendes to find a new club for the Turkish International – according to the latest news.

Turan is yet to feature for Barcelona this season and he returned back to training before the club’s midweek clash against Eibar. The Catalans have signed Paulinho this summer which has effectively pushed Arda Turan further down the pecking order.

And this has spiked the interest from Manchester United. According to a previously published report, Man Utd had shown an interest in signing the player and Jose Mourinho even had several meetings with Turan.

Turan joined Barcelona before the 2015/16 season from Atletico Madrid but the Turkish International has since then failed to make any sort of impression. Turan has managed to play only 55 games for Barcelona over the three seasons that he has been with the club – scoring 15 games.
