According to the Sport-English, Barcelona are ready to make a bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
The bid is hopefully going to be in the region of 50 million pounds. And Barcelona hope that the amount will be enough to persuade the Brazilian to join the Catalans.
But having said that, Liverpool will not let go of Coutinho very easily. The Brazilian recently signed a new contract with the club up until 2022.
And Coutinho also happens to be their star player in the team. And Jurgen Klopp will not like to lose a player like him.
Money might be a problem:
Barcelona are also cautious about the amount of money that they are willing to pay for Coutinho. With his new deal at Liverpool, the playmaker earns around 5 million euros per year. So if Barca wants to sign him, then they will obviously have to pay a lot more.
But here lies the problem. Barcelona already have a lot of international superstars in their squad. And paying a new signing such a hefty amount can easily cause unrest in their dressing room.

The likes of Messi and Neymar have quite recently had rifts with the team management on certain issues. And if Coutinho does come in with such a high tag then the rifts might grow bigger.
Replacement for Neymar:
Barcelona superstar Neymar has been heavily linked with Manchester United for quite some time now.
According to various reports, United are keen on signing the Brazilian. If this does turn out to be true, then Philippe Coutinho can become an apt replacement for his Brazilian teammate.
Barcelona will clearly be monitoring the progress of Neymar and they will certainly try and keep Coutinho as a reliable backup option.
