Barcelona will turn to these Liverpool and Arsenal targets if the Reds refuse to sell Philippe Coutinho

It looks like Barcelona have jumped on the back of Liverpool and are just refusing to come down.

The Catalans have been chasing Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho for quite some time now. And after all the transfer request and sore back antics, Liverpool have up until now stopped the Spanish Armada from anchoring on the shores of the river Mersey. It was also claimed that Barcelona had given a deadline to Liverpool for accepting the offer after which the Catalans threatened to withdraw the offer. That so-called deadline has gone by and now reports across Spain have been claiming that Barcelona have started looking at other players in order to replace Coutinho.

And the Barcelona management have shortlisted two such players and both of them play in the Bundesliga. The first one is none other RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita – a player that Liverpool had shown a keen interest in during the early parts of the transfer window. And the second one is Leon Goretzka from Schalke 04 – a target for Arsene Wenger.

Barcelona have had one of the worst transfer windows amongst the so-called giants of European football. They have lost out Neymar to PSG while they have only signed ex-Tottenham player Paulinho.

This though, is nothing but an initial report and no details about the interests have been specified.
