Bayern Munich scored an injury time winner thanks to Robert Lewandowski to grab three points in their Bundesliga match against SC Freiburg.

In their first match after the winter break, Bayern Munich were up against SC Freiburg and before they could understand anything they went behind.  Janik Haberer scored in the fourth minute of the match to give the home team the lead.

It turned out to be a struggle for the German giants and they finally got their equaliser thanks to Lewandowski in the 35th minute of the match. The goal was assisted by Douglas Costa. And both teams went into half-time, level on goals.

Bayern dominated possession for most of the match and had a fair amount of shots on target. But it looked as if the teams were going to split points. But then, Robert Lewandowski had the final say in the match. In added time in the second half, Frank Ribery put in a wonderful cross from the left-hand side. And it was equally matched by Lewandowski with a superb volley.

The late goal proved to be the ultimate winner and Bayern walked back with all the three points. But the goal proved to be a heartbreaker. Not only for Freiburg but also for Leipzig who are second in the league and six points away from Bayern.

Leipzig has been having a fairytale season in the Bundesliga and they would have really liked a draw in this match. As it would have been easier for them to target the top spot.

In the next game, Bayern face Bremen who are now without a win in their last 5 matches. Bayern will be hoping for a regulation win in this match and then cement the top spot.

The loss leaves Freiburg 8th in the league and in the next match they host Hertha BSC.
