Bayern Munich came from 3-1 behind to stage an epic comeback against RB Leipzig to win the encounter 4-5 at the final whistle.

Sky Sports asked Philipp Lahm at the end of the game about his thoughts, and his reply was, “I’ve got no idea what just happened.” This is exactly what most of the people watching the game were thinking. What just happened? I mean Leipzig were winning the game 4-2 up until the 83rd minute. They were on course to register a landmark victory. Bayern looked rattled.

I mean Leipzig were winning the game 4-2 up until the 83rd minute. They were on course to register a landmark victory. Bayern looked rattled and they had no sync in their play. So what exactly went wrong then?

Well, nothing went wrong actually. Bayern just woke up from their hibernation and decided to score 3 goals in a matter of 10 minutes. That’s all it was basically. Goals from Lewandowski, Alaba, and Robben turned the scoreline on its head. And Bayern walked out handsomely with all three points.

In the first half, Bayern Munich’s defense was all over the place. They committed too many fouls and made a whole lot of reckless challenges. They even gave away a penalty just around the half hour mark. But then, Carlo Ancelotti’s men decided just got out of bed in the 84th minute and won a marathon. No warm up whatsoever.

“When Leipzig were 4-2 up, I thought there would still be something in it for us if we could get another goal.” these are the words of Robert Lewandowski after the match.

Carlo Ancelotti was a lot more humble though as he graciously praised his counterparts and even congratulated them. He even welcomed them to the Champions League next season.

Bayern once again showed us why exactly then are the Bundesliga Champions. For the fifth time in a row. Nothing is too far off their reach if they want to achieve it.

Champions League trophy next season maybe?
