Defending Champions Bengaluru FC returned to the top of the Hero I-League on the back of a C K Vineeth hat trick.

Santosh Kashyap took his side to the Kanteerava with one aim and one aim only. And was to frustrate Bengaluru to point where they were making unforced errors. This was the tone of the match for most of the first half and it looked as if it was to continue for the full 90 minutes.

But a certain C K Vineeth had somehow failed to read the script that Kashyap has so intricately written. He went on to score a hattrick in the match and wrote his own headline. In the process of scoring the hat trick, he achieved quite a lot of things. He became the joint top scorer of the league along with Mohun Bagan forward Darryl Duffy. He became the first player in the club’s history to score a hat-trick. And most importantly his goals took Bengaluru to the top of the table.

Bengaluru FC travel to Kolkata next to play East Bengal. And such an emphatic win will surely boost their confidence before the play the Kolkata club. They will walk into this match with a world of confidence and a bagful of goals with them.
