Stoke City forward Bojan Krkic has moved to German club Mainz on a loan deal until the end of the season. This comes after Bojan had fallen out of favour under Stoke City manager Mark Huges. He will stay with the German outfit and he was visibly decided to prove his metal in another European League.

The next Messi, well almost:

Bojan was the next great thing to come out of La Masia after Lionel Messi. Well, that’s what everyone was saying. Having signed a professional contract with Barca at the age of 17th he became the youngest goal scorer for the Catalan giants. A record which was previously held by Messi. The young lad did certainly have potential. But somehow his club career never quite took off. Even though he scored a dozen goals in his first season. He was confined to scrap appearance for next few seasons. He also had somewhat of a strained relationship with Guardiola which promoted the youngster to leave Barca eventually.

Adding a lot of frequent flyer miles:

Bojan left Barca to join Seria A side AS Roma in 2011. But the very next season he was loaned out to Milan. He came back to Barcelona again when the club initiated his buy back clause but as luck would have it, he was loaned out the very same year to Ajax. In 2014 Mark Hughes brought Bojan to Stoke and the player made an immediate impact for the club. But in recent times he has not featured in Hughes’ plans and has now moved to Germany to join Mainz. His travels clearly suggest that Bojan has found it very difficult to cement his place in a particular team and is constantly moving around in order to prove himself.
