Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently rejected a new contract from Arsenal which was worth £180,000-per-week in a bid to move out of the Emirates.

And as soon as the new deal was rejected everyone understood that the English International was going to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were apparently waiting for Chamberlain to reject the new offer after which they were scheduled to make an official bid for the player.

Well, that bid has been made and to everyone’s surprise, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejected a lucrative offer from Chelsea Football Club. According to the latest reports, Oxlade believes that Chelsea want to use him as a wing-back and one of the biggest reasons for him wanting to leave Wenger’s squad is that fact that he has repeatedly been played out of position.

We had earlier reported that even though Chelsea look to have an upper hand in the deal but Liverpool were not going to back down from a challenge. And this is exactly what has happened. Chamberlain rejected an offer of £40 million from Chelsea yesterday and it is now being said that Liverpool are willing to cash in on the situation. The 24-year-old is keen on a move to Anfield where Jurgen Klopp has assured him a position in central midfield – his most favoured role.

Liverpool are most likely to make a bid for Chamberlain on Wednesday but the amount is going to be less than what Chelsea were willing to pay for him.

Chamberlain is out of contract next year and Arsenal want to offload him as quickly as possible or else they will have to let him go for free next summer.

Liverpool have also signed Naby Keita from RB Leipzig who will join the club in 2018 and Jurgen Klopp is also closing in on a move for Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk.
