Kostas Manolas is currently among the best defenders in the Serie A and the Greece International has just agreed to a new lucrative contract with AS Roma.

But how is that good news for other clubs, you might ask?

Well, Manolas’ new contract will reportedly have a release clause of £32.5 million and as per the standard of the player’s performance this season the above-mentioned sum looks a very inadequate one.

Manolas joined Roma before the 2014-15 season and has played 143 matches for the Serie A outfit. And as per Pagine Romaniste, the 26-year-old’s loyalty has been rewarded with a new contract.

Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea have previously shown substantial interest in the centre-back and this new release clause will definitely raise their hopes. But both Arsenal and Chelsea might not find it very easy to get a hold of Manolas as reports have it that Juventus are also interested in signing him up during the summer transfer window.
