According to a report in Don Balon, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to sign Olivier Giroud during the January transfer window.

Olivier Giroud came pretty close to moving out of the Emirates this summer and join Ronald Koeman’s Everton. But Wenger strongly resisted the move because he wanted to keep the competition at its peak in the striker’s position. But now it looks as if Antonio Conte has grown a liking for the player and will go after the Frenchman in a shock move in January.

Don Balon states that the interest from the Chelsea boss is pretty strong and with Wenger almost sorting out his main striker it will not be a big surprise if the Gunners boss let’s go off the Pushkas winner.

Giroud has featured in 8 Premier League matches so far this season but he is very rapidly being shadowed by new summer signing Alexandre Lacazette. So quite clearly the 31-year-old too will want to move out of the Emirates in order to a bit more game time.
