Chelsea blew away West Brom at the Hawthorns with a 4-0 win against Tony Pulis’ side and once again it was Eden Hazard was pulling all the strings for Conte’s side. The Belgian scored two goals on the night and to cap off a fine performance and to also somewhat keep the pressure on league leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea momentarily went to the second spot on the table but were quickly toppled by Manchester United after Jose Mourinho’s men beat Newcastle 4-1 at home. The Blues are now 9 points behind Manchester City after just 12 games – which is undoubtedly a huge gap to cover. But Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard feels that the task has not yet gone out of hand and that his team can still catch Guardiola’s men.

Hazard said, “Manchester City are winning a lot of games but we want to close the gap,

“You never know in the Premier League. Last year we won 13 games in a row so why not again?

“We have to be ready for that.”

Antonio Conte though, on the other hand, looks to have already given up home and feels that the Blue Half of Manchester have moved out of catching distance. The Italian in a way admitted defeat and said that they should focus on themselves and not think about City’s form.

“It’s very difficult to think someone can stop them,” Conte said.

“They are having a fantastic run and have won every game and drawn just one since the start of the season.

“City are playing very well and having fantastic results. We have to continue this way, to continue to work and to look at ourselves.”

It looks like every manager in contention seems to have given up hope of catching up Manchester City this season.
