Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have held further talks on Wednesday over the potential move of wantaway striker Diego Costa.

Costa has his heart set on a move to his old club ever since Antonio Conte showed him the door at Stamford Bridge. Even though the Spanish International had interest from clubs like Everton and Besiktas but he was always reluctant to reunite with Diego Simeone.

This week we reported that Atletico Madrid were going to sign the player and immediately loan him to Everton for a short period. And now according to the latest news, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have held advanced talks as the La Liga outfit have offered to pay around £49 million for the Spaniard’s services.

As Costa spends his days in exile in Brazil, Atletico are trying very hard to land the player before the transfer deadline. But having said that Atleti will not be able to register the player immediately owing to the transfer ban. So the only option they have will be to loan him out immediately until January.

So if the deal between Atletico and Chelsea is struck with time to spare then Everton might still have a chance to land him up. And if that does not happen then Costa will have to sit out from active football until January.
