Chelsea intend to sign atleast three more players before the transfer window closes down this Thursday. And according to the latest reports, Chelsea are looking to make a fresh bid for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

The Blues had previously shown interest in bringing the player to Stamford Bridge but that wish quickly fizzled out – mainly due to the high asking price from the Welsh team. And Swansea were also not keen to let go of Llorente simply because it would have stretched their options up front. But now the Swans are in advanced talks with Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony and there is a feeling in London that once this deal is secure then the Welsh outfit will be ready to negotiate will Chelsea.

Swansea feel that Llorente is a player who is worthy of £30 million given the fact that he netted 15 goals last season. But Chelsea are of the view that Swansea are quoting too much for a player who is well past his prime.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has previously worked with Fernando Llorente having signed up the Spaniard during his Juventus days. The Italian manager feels that Llorente will be a perfect back-up to Alvaro Morata and given the fact that they both have played together in Juventus, Llorente can be a perfect mentor to Chelsea primarily hitman.

Llorente is likely to be one of the three signings that is supposed to come in before Thursday. The Blues are also in talks with Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after the latter refused a new £180,000-per-week deal at the Emirates.
