According to a report in Tutto Sport, Chelsea FC have made an unsuccessful bid for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea who are now frantically looking to buy a striker have just made a move for the Argentine goal machine. But as per the report, the £88 million bid has been rejected by the Italian giants.

Chelsea who have just signed Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, the Blues are currently without a striker amongst their ranks. Conte has decided to sell off Diego Costa, while their primary summer target, Romelu Lukaku has already signed for Manchester United. This has left Antonio Conte furious and desperate at the same time. Furious because of his management’s inability to bring Lukaku and desperate because the team has no striker amongst their ranks and the new season is fast approaching.

As per earlier reports, Chelsea had already opened talks with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Aubameyang. The Gabon International has handed in a transfer request at the club and is expected to leave in the summer. But after the Lukaku incident, it looks as if Conte is not taking any chances by just relying on one striker.

The Football Fan Base view:

We believe that the bid made by Chelsea was just to tap into Juventus to see if Gonzalo Higuain is available or not. And it is also very unlikely that Juventus are going to let go of their premier striker after just a single season.
