Both Chelsea as well as Manchester City are feeling a close eye on Arsenal and Jack Wilshere’s contract talks.

Wilshere’s current contract with the Gunners is soon coming to an end and it looks as if both Chelsea and Man City are keen on signing up the players. Wilshere recently started his first Premier League game of the season against Everton and sources from the Emirates reveal that the Gunners’ manager has been pretty impressed with Wilshere’s performance during the past couple of weeks and that the Arsenal management are thinking of giving the 25-year-old a new contract at the club.

This comes as a contrary to the previous statements that have been floating around and it is sure to dampen the mood of quite a few clubs that have been wanting to sign the Englishman for the next season.

But the reports of a new deal are at its initial stages and both Manchester City and Chelsea are keep a close tab on the proceedings. The report suggests that both these clubs are iclined towards Wilshere given the fact that he can prove his fitness.

Wilshere started out at Arsenal as one of the most promising youngsters in England but since then his career has been on a steady decline. His talent has been overshadowed by his constant injury problems and he has spent most of his footballing career on the treatment table than on the pitch. Last year his career hit a new low when Arsenal chose to loan him out to AFC Bournemouth but that too did not work out as planned. Wilshere returned to Arsenal this summer and sign then he has been showing signs of a revival of sorts.

But if he wants to stay at a big club then he will certainly have to pull up his performances a lot more.
