Chelsea Football Club might just have accidentally revealed the squad number of their new signing Alvaro Morata.
Chelsea who are currently on their pre-season tour in Singapore are yet to reveal the shirt number of £70 million signing from Real Madrid. This is contrary to their popular practice this season though, as all their other signings have been assigned shirt numbers.
But if one is going through Chelsea’s official website then he/she might very well get a hint as to which number Morata might eventually get. If you visit the player profiles on the Chelsea website then you will find that Alvaro Morata has found a place between N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard. Kante wears the No 7 jersey for the Blues while Hazard has the No 10.
The number 9 has been vacant since the days of the loan spell of Radamel Falcao. So as per our sources, Morata will be given the squad number before he plays his first match.
Antonio Conte has revealed that Morata will take part in his first match as Chelsea player when his team takes on Bayern Munich in Singapore on Tuesday.
