When Manchester United acquired the services of Paul Pogba back in August of 2016 he became the highest paid footballer in the English Premier League with a salary of £290,000 per week. But now it looks as if Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is all set to replace the Frenchman at the top of the table.

Eden Hazard’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in 2020 but the Blues are eager to bind him in a new deal – especially with Real Madrid sniffing around. We reported a fortnight back that the Belgian will most probably sign a new deal with the club. And now Express claim that Hazard and Chelsea are in the final stages of an agreement.

The attacking midfielder currently receives £200,000 per week in his current contract. But if he signs the new deal then Chelsea will reward him with a pay rise of a £100,000 per week. This means that Eden Hazard will overtake Paul Pogba becoming the highest paid footballer in the English Premier League with £300,000 per week.

The report claims that only a few minor details of the deal are left to be discussed and Hazard will most probably sign the deal once he returns back to London from International duty.

This new deal will probably mean that the 26-year-old will commit his long-term future to Chelsea Football Club which inturn will be a major setback for Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid.
