Yet another game against their London rivals that Chelsea could not end with 11 men on the field after David Luiz was sent off late in the game for a lunge on Sead Kolasinac.

The game ended a dull and dreary 0-0 with both sides left to wonder what could happen if they converted their chances.

Pedro got close for Chelsea but could not score a 1v1 past, Petr Cech, before Ramsey struck the post and Lacazette missed the follow-up which was virtually a sitter.

Here are the Chelsea players’ ratings from the Chelsea vs Arsenal game:

Thibaut Courtois – 6.5/10

Reliable when called upon in action and made a couple of smart saves.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10

Alert as always and solid. The reliable force at the back for Chelsea. Virtually negated the threat of Lacazetter with his intelligent reading of the game.

David Luiz – 5.5/10

Was one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch before that inexplicable lunge. Brought the ball forward well when needed, defended strongly and asserted himself in the game.

Gary Cahill – 6.5/10

Played with an air of indecisiveness and goes to prove that Rudiger is certainly a better option than him.

Marcos Alonso – 6/10

Struggled to make an impact on the match and also was troubled consistently be Bellerin’s pace. Got better as the game progressed but he will hope he can put this behind him.

Cesc Fabregas – 6.5/10

Played a peach of a pass which Pedro failed to convert for Chelsea. Did not impose himself much and Arsenal ran over him in the first half. Got more involved after Bakayoko came on to shore up the midfield.

N’Golo Kante – 7/10

Consistent in midfield even when exposed alongside Cesc in the first half. Was even better after Bakayoko was brought on and the partnership could turn out to be an exciting one.

Victor Moses – 7/10

Started the game very brightly as he ran at Kolasinac on the right side. Waned away as the game progressed as he failed to play any good deliveries into the box.

Willian – 7/10

Looked tired from the midweek Champions League excursion as he failed to stretch the Arsenal defence.

Pedro – 6/10

Should have scored when Fabregas laid it on a plate for him in the first half.  Will be hauled off for Hazard on the coming week.

Alvaro Morata – 5.5/10

Difficult day at the office for the Spaniard. Shoved off by Mustafi every time he went for the ball and got himself booked for dissent.

Substitutes:

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 7/10

Brought on at half-time to add steel to the midfield and looked impressive.

Eden Hazard – 7/10

Looked lively and is now impossible to keep on the bench anymore.

Andreas Christensen – N/A

Brought on late to help Chelsea keep the clean sheet intact.
