Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory over Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Kenedy got the Blues off to a perfect start at Stamford Bridge with the opener after 13 minutes, before Michy Batshuayi added a second almost immediately.

Charly Musonda made it three just before halftime, finding the back of the net on his Chelsea senior debut.

Batshuayi added to his tally after the break before the Belgian completed his hat-trick late on as the Blues closed out the game against their Championship opposition.

There was still time for Tendayi Darikwa to nab a consolation, but it is Conte’s men who march on into the next round.

Here are the Chelsea players ratings vs Nottingham Forest:

Willy Caballero – 6.5/10

Made his debut and certainly had few dodgy moments in the goal. Was slow to get off the blocks and the crossbar came to his rescue. Will be disappointed with the late goal he conceded.

Antonio Rudiger – 8/10

The German was superb throughout. Robust while defending and composed on the ball. Played an absolute peach of a delivery for Kennedy’s opener.

Andreas Christensen – 7.5/10

Looks like a strong prospect. Ice cool as always. With Chelsea set to miss David Luiz, they might just find a replacement in the Dane for more than the two games.

Gary Cahill – 6.5/10

Slowly losing out to Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the race to be the first choice at Stamford Bridge. Did not do anything wrong but unlike his partners, he did not impress as well.

Davide Zappacosta – 6.5/10

Missed opportunity to condemn Victor Moses to the bench. Decent overall but nothing out of the ordinary which was in stark contrast to his flashy display against Qarabag.

Tiemoue Bakayoko -7.5/10

Knocked the ball around comfortably. Strong on the ball and did well to get it back when he lost it. Stepping into the shoes of Kante and offers his compatriot much-needed respite.

Cesc Fabregas – 8/10

The Spaniard had his magic hat on, on the night. Stunning passes over the defences to create chances repeatedly. Should have had more than just an assist to show for his performance.

Kennedy – 8/10

What a performance by the Brazilian whose Chelsea career seemed all but over after the unfortunate incident in China. Scored the first, continually threatened and rattled the bar for the fifth goal which ricocheted in off Batshuayi.

Charly Musonda – 8/10

An emotional night for the young Belgian as he scored his first Chelsea goal in his first start with a beautiful finish. Was full of pace and trickery and gave plenty to ponder for Conte as to how to develop him into a world-class player.

Michy Batshuayi – 7.5/10

Scored a bizarre first hat-trick of his Chelsea career. Not very impressive on the ball. Took the first goal well but the second was all but created by the Brilliance of Eden Hazard and the third was a moment of luck. Must make use of the fact that he is scoring without playing well to encourage himself to play better.

Eden Hazard – 9/10

Chelsea will be glad to have their star back. Looked increasingly influential. Created some 2 of Batshuayi’s goals and was full of some neat flicks and touches.

Substitute:

Ethan Ampadu – 7/10

The Welsh looked super composed and settled despite just turning 17 six days back. Chelsea have stolen a possible gem from Exeter City.

Jake Clarke-Salter – N/A

Slotted nicely into the three at the back on the left. He wasn’t really tested defensively.

Dujon Sterling – N/A

A great moment for him to make his debut for the senior side. Played at right wing-back and looked neat and tidy on the ball.
