Claudio Marchisio could finally leave Turin and end his 24-year-old love affair with Juventus.

The experienced midfielder is unhappy at Juventus and Chelsea could look to capitalise by signing him.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Marchisio no longer feels like a key part of manager Massimiliano Allegri’s plans and is unhappy with life at Juve.

The Italian has spent all his career at Juventus amassing almost 400 appearances for the club, but he is growing increasingly frustrated with manager Massimiliano Allegri as he was predominantly used from the bench last season.

Despite an impressive preseason, the midfielder was left out of the side that lost to Lazio in Saturday’s Supercoppa.

He is one of only six players to have been in the squads for each of the Old Lady’s consecutive Scudetto titles in Serie A.

Conte managed the Juve veteran for three seasons during his spell in Turin, which ended in 2014.

Chelsea are continuing their attempts to bolster their midfield, but they will have to act fast as the transfer window draws to a close.

AC Milan are also planning a swoop for Marchisio, but the 31-year-old has stated his intentions to move abroad.

Allegri will be looking to sell the experienced midfielder to raise funds so that he can chase his own summer targets.

Chelsea just have Cesc Fabregas, Tiemoue Bakayoko, and N’Golo Kante to compete for the midfield spots. With Chelsea taking part in 4 competitions this season, they could find it difficult with just these to choose from. Chelsea have been linked with other midfielders like Danny Drinkwater of Leicester and Ross Barkley of Everton but signing Marchisio could prove to be the best choice despite him being the oldest of the three.

Marchisio has played for 3 seasons with Conte and won the league titles in all of those seasons. He knows Conte’s game inside out. His vast amount of experience at the club and international level will only benefit Chelsea as they look to make their comeback in the Champions League this season. With Early indications being that Conte will shift back to his favoured 3-5-2 formation that he used to achieve success in Turin, the signing of Marchisio makes all the more sense as he is the only one who has played in such a system before and to great effect. He along with Pirlo, Vidal and Pogba formed the world’s most feared midfield and he can certainly do it again with the talented trio of Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante, and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
