Chelsea are set to rival Arsenal in the pursuit of Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto.

As per Corriere Dello Sport, Chelsea have recently shown a great deal of interest in the 21-year-old and could make a move for him during the January transfer window. The Blues brought in Tiemoue Bakayoko to replace Nemanja Matic but the Frenchman has clearly failed to live up to the expectations – hence the sudden spike in interest for the Udinese midfielder.

But Chelsea will certainly have to stand in a long queue of clubs who are after the player. Arsenal have maintained a strong interest in the Czech Republic International throughout the summer and they too can place an official bid for Jankto in January. Apart from the London outfits, clubs like AC Milan and Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on the player.

Jankto, 21 is predominantly a left-sided midfielder but he also has the ability to play down the middle. He joined Udinese back in 2015 and spent his first season out on loan to Serie B side Ascoli. But in 2-16-17 he returned to Udinese and scored 5 goals in 30 appearances for the club. This season too the 21-year-old has been in fine form and has already levelled his tally of 5 goals from the previous season within just 15 appearances.
