No, it’s not Mbappe.

Chelsea have signed Kylian Hazard from Hungarian side Ujpest. He played 42 times for the club and will now join Chelsea’s development squad.

The 22-year-old Belgian follows in the footsteps of brothers Eden, a star of the Chelsea first team who has won two Premier League titles with the club, and Thorgan in signing for the reigning champions.

The attacking midfielder started his professional career in his native Belgium, first with White Star Brussels and then Zulte-Waregem. He joined Ujpest in the summer of 2015.

Chelsea announced the signing on their website on Tuesday afternoon, with a short video showing footage of their latest Hazard signing his contract, posing for photographs and attempting kick ups at their Cobham training base.

He could make his first Chelsea appearance when the development squad faces Sunderland on September 9.

Eden Hazard, 26, arrived from Lille in the summer of 2012 and has won two league titles with Chelsea and also a Europa League and a League cup title. He has been hugely successful during his time in London so far. He has been named Chelsea footballer of the year on three occasions and PFA Footballer of the year in 2015 as well.

Thorgan joined the ranks at Stamford Bridge that same summer but never made a senior appearance, with his Chelsea career spent on loan at Zulte Waregem and then at Gladbach.

He joined the German club permanently in 2015 and has become a prominent member of the side which played in last season’s Champions League.

Both Eden and Thorgan are full Belgian internationals, while another of the Hazard brothers, Ethan, 14, plays in the youth section of Belgian club Trubize.

It is no surprise that all four brothers are plying their trade in this sport as it runs in their blood. Hazard’s father, Thierry, played for La Louviere in the Belgian second division for many years and mother Carine playing at the top level of the women’s game in their home country, before retiring to focus on family life.

Chelsea fans will be excited by the prospect of the two Hazard’s linking up in the future but, at the same time, the signing does not add strength to their first team, which is the need of the hour.
Kylian will be hoping to make a quick impression and enter the first team fray before he can be loaned out of Chelsea and eventually sold like many other players. He won’t have to look too far with brother Thorgan facing a similar fate. He will be more eager to follow Eden’s footsteps and so will the Chelsea fans.
