Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is desperate for a move to Real Madrid and has asked his representatives to make the deal happen.

With 18 months left on his current contract, Courtois had rejected a new deal a couple of months back. But the Blues have come up with a new and improved contract but that too is not heading in any positive direction.

Real Madrid have been chasing Courtois for a long time and now it seems that the Belgian too, is interested in moving to the Bernabeu – as per the AS. Zidane is pretty close to signing Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga but transfers guru Guillem Balague feels that Kepa is just a part-time solution and Madrid want to sign Courtois at the end of the season.

One big reason why Chelsea might be finding it hard to make Courtois sign the lucrative deal is that the Belgian’s ex-girlfriend is currently living in Madrid with his two children. And Chelsea No. 1 being the legal custodian wants to go back to his children.

If the former Atletico man accepts Chelsea’s new deal that it will make him the highest paid keeper in the world.

But as they say – family always comes first.
