Chelsea have put their foot on the peddle and have launched a series of bids for some of the best talents in the Premier League. And one such player is Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 24-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current contract at the Emirates and he has already informed Arsenal that he will not be signing a new deal. And it is being reported that Chelsea want to bring him onboard before the transfer window comes to a close next Thursday. Chamberlain is scheduled to have a meeting with Arsene Wenger this week and Chelsea are hoping that the player will speak to the Arsenal boss about his desire to move to Stamford Bridge.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain becomes the fourth English player to be associated with Chelsea during the past couple of weeks – the other three being Everton’s Ross Barkley and Leicester duo Danny Drinkwater and Jamie Vardy.
Arsene Wenger has gone on record to state that Chamberlain is a fine talent and remains a vital piece in the Arsenal jigsaw. But the Frenchman knows very well that if he does not let the 24-year-old leave this summer then he will have to let go of Oxlade-Chamberlain for free come the next summer window.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has said that he wishes to make a few more signing before Thursday and by the looks of it the Italian is trying his hands at almost every player who might be available in the market.
