Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is still unsure over the extent of the injury that his midfielder N’Golo Kante had suffered during France’s World Cup qualifier match against Bulgaria.

The dynamic midfielder had to be taken off by Didier Deschamps on the half-hour mark with what looked like a hamstring injury. And now the France manager has more or less confirmed that the Chelsea player has been ruled out of the country’s next qualifier against Belarus.

While speaking to the press, Deschamps said, “No, I can’t count on him for the next game. When you go out with a muscular issue… it’s something behind his thigh.

“N’Golo had a crucial part to play, obviously,

“After N’Golo’s injury, Adrien Rabiot came on in the same role, maybe not with the same quality as N’Golo. N’Golo’s injury perhaps disturbed us. It’s not something against Adrien, but just the fact that we found ourselves short of strikers after N’Golo came off.”

This bit of news will certainly be a bit of a concern for Chelsea. Kante has played each and every minute for the Blues during the current season and he has been one of the mainstays for Conte.

Kante will have a scan this week and then only can the France National Team confirm the extent of his injury.
