Chelsea are still in talks with Leicester City over the transfer of Danny Drinkwater but both the clubs cannot reach an agreement over the transfer price.

According to the latest reports, Chelsea have offered £30 million to the Foxes for the services of Drinkwater but it has still fallen £10 million short of the asking price. The Blues had already made a bid of around £15 million but it was immediately turned down by Leicester City.

Antonio Conte was furious with the Chelsea board for having sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and that is when Danny Drinkwater’s name popped up as a potential replacement to the Serbian.

But the Blues board know very well that with the transfer window coming to a close, it might be possible that the Drinkwater deal collapses so they are already looking elsewhere in order to find a replacement.

And according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are planning to move for Everton’s Idrissa Gueye if the Drinkwater move fails to happen. The Blues are giving it a serious thought as news from Goodison Park is that Ronald Koeman might just sell the Senegalese International in return for a hefty amount.
