Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recently said that his team was in the market in order to buy a few more players as he feels that there are still a few positions that need to be strengthened before the next season starts. And one such area would be the left-back spot where Conte has seen the need for a better player.

And if reports are to be believed then Chelsea are preparing a world record bid for Alex Sandro of Juventus. Chelsea have already made two unsuccessful bids for the Brazilian International during the course of the summer and news has it that the Blues are now preparing a revised bid of £54 million which – if accepted – will make the 26-year-old the most expensive defender in the world.

Conte has already splurged a lot of cash in the market in order to acquire the services of Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko. And the Italian feels that Marcos Alonso is one of the weaker links in his team – thus the bid for Sandro.

But before the Chelsea fans could come out and praise their manager for his positive intent, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has said that Chelsea have no chance in signing the left-back. Allegri told the media that he is currently working with a fairly small squad and is eager to add a few more players rather than selling ones from his current lot.
