After a rather fruitless summer in pursuit of Alex Sandro, Chelsea have finally turned their attention elsewhere. Despite tabling multiple bids to make the Brazilian the world’s most expensive defender, Conte has not been able to secure the left wing-back’s services.
Now according to reports arising in the media today, Chelsea have turned their attention to Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose.
Tottenham have already sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City this year and are adamant that they will not be selling any more of their first team players. And a £40m offer by Chelsea will most likely not change Daniel Levy’s mind.
They could, however, lure Rose by raising his wages and reports suggest that they are ready to double the current £65,000-per-week he earns.
Chelsea did, in fact, go after Rose two years ago when the relationship between The Blues and Spurs was poisonous. While that relationship has improved in recent times it is highly likely that Tottenham will look to keep hold of their star players.

The English International has 4 years left on his current contract and Tottenham are therefore under no sorts of pressure to listen to offers for him.
Rose has been out of action since January and is said to be returning to action after the month of August. Despite that, quite a few clubs including Manchester United and Inter Milan have offered him a chance to join them.
Rose was a major part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans over the previous 2 seasons providing both defensive solidity and attacking flair.
With Chelsea just having Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses in the wing-back positions, it is obviously a weak link in the team and the Italian boss desperately wants to address that.
Signing Danny Rose could be immense for Chelsea as he possesses blistering pace and good crossing ability. Defensively, Rose is more dependable than the current holder of that position Marcos Alonso. The 27-year-old had been a major part of Tottenham’s unprecedented success for the past 2 years and managed to keep the impressive Ben Davies out of the side.
If Conte is not able to persuade Rose to move to Stamford Bridge, it is known that Chelsea will look at other options. Foremost being former Chelsea star who was part of the Champions League winning side – Ryan Bertrand. He has emerged as a target to add much-needed depth to Chelsea’s squad in what could be a very difficult season if the squad is not beefed up with games coming thick and fast
An offer from Chelsea is unlikely to change Tottenham’s stance that Danny Rose is not for sale, and he seems sure to play a key role for Pochettino in 2017-18 when he returns to full fitness.
