Barcelona have released an official statement claiming that Neymar Jr has handed in a transfer request and wishes to move out of Barcelona. So it is almost inevitable that the Brazilian will now be joining French club PSG for a transfer fee of €222 million.

This transfer has been looming on the horizon for quite some time now and many feel that Neymar was waiting for the 31st of July after which he was eligible to receive a loyalty bonus of £25 million. If we keep all the speculations aside for a moment then we will be able to see the writing on the wall – Neymar is no longer a Barcelona man. But the Catalan giants are not sitting with folded hands as reports suggest that they might have already found a replacement for the Brazilian in the form of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

According to the Barcelona management Hazard will be a suitable replacement for Neymar and the Spanish giants are going all out in order to land him at Camp Nou. But the funny side of the story is the fact that Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich will not create a great deal of fuss if Barcelona come calling for their star player. Abramovich knows very well the amount of money that Barcelona will be getting from PSG and the Blues are trying to capitalize on this by selling Hazard in a puffed up deal.

But if Chelsea do sell Hazard to Barcelona then the management will not be sitting pretty on the bundles of cash that they will receive. It is also being reported that if the Blues lose Hazard then they will likely go for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe as an alternative. The French youngster has a price tag of £187 million which is in no ways a meagre amount and that is why Chelsea will try and get as much money as possible for Hazard if Barcelona do come calling.

Another major problem for Chelsea will the fact that Real Madrid have also been pursuing Mbappe for quite some time now and they too have gathered a fairly large sum of money by selling Alvaro Morata to Chelsea for £70 million
