Chelsea beat relegation troubled Hull City 2-0 as they move eight points clear at the top. It was more of a regulation win for Antonio Conte’s side. As Hull City are finding it difficult to crawl out of the bottom.

Chelsea had a powerful first half as they were attacking from the onset but Hull City maintained their shape and were resilient at the back. And Chelsea were finding it difficult to break through the Hull defense.

The first half did have a scary moment as Gary Cahill and Ryan Mason had a clash of heads in the 14th minute and Mason had to be carried off as a result.(http://wordpress-177711-516565.cloudwaysapps.com/hull-city-player-fractured-skull/)

The delay in play added a significant chunk of injury time to the first half and it was here when Chelsea finally got their goal thanks to Diego Costa. Costa scored for the first time since rumours of him moving to the Chinese League.

Gary Cahill scored the second goal for Chelsea in the 81st minute to seal the victory for the Blues. This victory comes on the back of a thumping win against Leicester. And Chelsea will now be high on confidence as they have their eyes firmly set on the League trophy. The Costa rumour looks to have settled down for the time being but rumour is abuzz that he can move in the summer.

Gary Cahill scored Chelsea’s second goal to seal the victory.

Conte’s men next face Brentford in the FA Cup next weekend. As Conte will look to give most of his first team players a much-deserved rest. On the other hand, this is their third loss in the last fives games. They have no respite from the pressure as they host Man Utd in the League Cup during the weekend. And then they face Fulham in the FA Cup.
