Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko have given Chelsea a boost by taking part in a friendly against Queens Park Rangers.

The Belgian winger has been out with an injury since July after injuring his ankle in a training session with the national team. Hazard was expected to be out for at least 2 months with a return scheduled towards mid-September.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, The Frenchman who signed from AS Monaco this season as a replacement for Nemanja Matic, has also been on the sidelines following a knee injury he picked up towards the end of last season.

However, Bakayoko and Hazard have handed Conte a timely boost by featuring in today’s game at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.

The game was played behind closed doors and against Queens Park Rangers U20 side. It was arranged specifically to allow the pair to get some playing time but it’s unclear if they could form part of Chelsea’s 18-man squad on Sunday.

Sources say that Eden Hazard also managed to get on the score sheet for The Blues which will be rather encouraging news for Chelsea fans after their dismal start to the campaign.

The dynamic winger who likes cutting in from the left was played in behind the striker as per the sources.

Tiemoue Bakayoko also featured on his 23rd birthday for The Blues.

Conte also experimented using Andreas Christensen as a central defensive midfielder in an attempt to solve his midfield conundrum for Sunday’s Wembley showdown.

In more encouraging news, youngster Charly Musonda scored twice for the Blues as he attempts to make his way in the first team setup.

Record signing Alvaro Morata also got himself on the score sheet twice as he looks to make his first start for The Blues after an impressive appearance off the Bench against Burnley.

N’Golo Kante, David Luiz, and Willian also featured amongst the goals as Chelsea looked to boost their morale ahead of a crucial match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The game is still likely to be too soon for Hazard and Bakayoko and it does not seem likely that they will take part in it.

However, their returns to the side will be just around the corner and much earlier than expected initially.

With transfer targets seemingly tough to snap up, the return of their talismanic winger and new midfield signing would be a welcome boost.

The Blues will be without Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas for the London derby following their red cards against The Clarets.
