After Saturday’s shock defeat at home to Burnley in title defence opener, Chelsea are said to be going to dig deep in the market.

Rumors of yet another improved bid for Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro have resurfaced yet again.

Meanwhile, Schalke 04 sporting director Christian Heidel has confirmed that the Ruhr based club are in talks over yet another loan move for 23-year-old Baba Rahman.

The defeat against The Clarets has invariably led to a fresh list of rumours with Alex Sandro, Southampton’s want-away defender Virgil van Dijk and Spurs’ left back Danny Rose said to be high on the list.

No player has been linked with Chelsea as often as Alex Sandro this summer and The Blues are ready to pay up to £65 million this summer to get him but the Turin based side remain adamant that they do not want to sell the former Porto player and so late in the window they are highly unlikely to change their stance with replacements difficult to get hold of.

With a move seeming plausible earlier in the transfer window, Chelsea fans all over the world hoped it went through but Juventus began their pre-season preparations with the complete involvement of The Brazilian crushing any such hope.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri made the club’s stance clear: “Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us. He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with Marcelo, he’s [one of] the best in the world.”

The report also stated that the Bianconeri have turned down a bid in the region of £61 million for the dynamic left wing-back.

It could very well be possible that Chelsea’s remaining transfer activity will be departures rather than arrivals with Baba Rahman’s loan exit news doing rounds once again.

Schalke 04 sporting director Heidel has revealed his club has been in talks with the Blues:

“We are in talks with the player, his agent, and Chelsea.

“Ultimately, it is about when Baba will be able to play again. No decision has been made yet.

“I do not know what will happen tomorrow, the day after or next week.

“The fact is a transfer is possible until August 31, but our squad is very good in terms of quality and depth.”

Chelsea’s defensive issues exposed against Sean Dyche’s men could very well see Conte keep the Ghanian International back with The Blues. The player could offer more than just depth to The Blues and his pace and crossing ability could prove to be beneficial on the left flank at Chelsea.
