Chelsea were held to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge this weekend by Arsenal as the Blues ended the game with 10 men. David Luiz was sent off during the final few minutes of the match due to a rash lunge at Sead Kolasinac.

But the red card was a big point of debate among both the supporters as many thought that David Luiz had rushed into the challenge simply because Alexis Sanchez had fouled him just seconds ago. But the referee did not see Sanchez’ elbow on the face of Luiz as an offence and he let the game flow – resulting in the challenge of David Luiz.

Speaking after the match, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte said that even though he did not wish to comment on the referee’s decision but according to him Sanchez’s tackle was a clear foul.

And now Chelsea’s official website has also taken a sly dig at Alexis Sanchez but resonating their manager’s words.

In their post-match review the club’s official website said, “David Luiz, earlier booked, was shown a straight red for a late challenge on Kolasinac in front of the dugouts, although it looked like Sanchez had fouled him in the build-up to it,”

The Stamford Bridge outfit clearly feels that Alexis Sanchez had committed a foul and if the referee had deemed it as one then David Luiz would still be on the pitch. The red card provided the Gunners with a vital advantage as the Blues virtually lost all hopes of scoring a last-gasp goal.
