Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is out in the market looking for a back up to Alvaro Morata and had recently set his sights on Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy. But now according to the latest reports, Everton have also shown interest in signing up the player.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already spent £150 million during the summer transfer window but he still needs to bring in a proper replacement for Romelu Lukaku – after the Belgian left for Manchester United during the summer. And it looks as if Koeman has set his sights on Chelsea’s target Vardy as the final piece in his attacking jigsaw puzzle.

Jamie Vardy has been valued at around £40 million in the transfer market but the Foxes are not eager to let go of their hitman having already rejected a bid from Arsenal early on during the transfer window.

But both Chelsea and Everton feel that Vardy is looking for a new challenge and they can persuade him to shift loyalties.

Chelsea also have an upper hand to Everton in the battle as they are also after Leicester’s midfielder Danny Drinkwater and a dual bid from the Blues might just be hard to resist for the Foxes.

Everton are desperately looking for a striker and their manager even went on to claim that he would love to have Chelsea outcast Diego Costa in his squad. Costa is currently spending his days in exile in Brazil after refusing to return back to training at Chelsea.

Everton had also shown interest in Arsenal’ Olivier Giroud and Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke but both these deals have hit a brick wall.
